10-1 How do you appoint a jockey? |
When you own a virtual horse on Newturf, you are by default designated as the jockey. To appoint a jockey, you can do it directly from the HORSE CARD. Below the name of the jockey, you have a link “change”.
You can also appoint a jockey directly from the Jockey Directory: select the horses of your stable that you wish to entrust to a selected Jockey. You then have to wait for the approval of the jockey. The percentage revenue share (jockey are only paid on horse winnings) is negotiated directly between the owner and the jockey.

10-2 What if the jockey has horse in the same race? |
If the jockey is already appointed in the same race, the software prevents you from nominating the horse in the race.
10-3 Can I jockey my own horse? |
10-4 I have agreed with an owner to drive his horse in a race this evening. How can I validate my race tactic? This horse is not displayed in my list.
Have you accepted the Jockey contracts?
Please select Jockey (on the left), then select My racing contracts with owners (top right). If there are outstanding contracts, either click the ball to confirm the contract or click the dustbin to reject it.
Once the contracts have been accepted select the Jockey button (menu on the left hand side) to get the list of the horses you will drive.
Then simply select the race then Prepare for the race (blue font).
Enter your strategy and click OK to register it.

10-5 In the Jockey section of the Help, does "Strength" refer to the horse stamina ? |
It is necessary to correlate the « strength » of appeal / request with the horse’s “endurance”: it’s its capacity to tolerate “whippings” and its efforts to sustain a speed that is faster than its basic speed.
10-6 Does obedience has an impact on the result of a test race? Is a test race improving the obedience of a horse?
Yes obedience impacts the result of a test race, in the same way it impacts the result of a race against other runners.
No, obedience is not improving with test races but it is improving gradually by running races against other horses.
10-7 Does the fact that my horse has run the race on the exterior of the course rather that in the interior change his results time at all? |
No, this does not have any impact. Our mathematical equations allow for the bend. The aim is to avoid putting those that registered last for a race at a disadvantage, given that the lanes are numbered from the inside lane outwards (the inside lane = lane 1). The earlier you register, the more likely you will be near to the inside lane.

10-8 How to register in the Jockey Directory? |
In the Jockey category, you have at your disposal a link entitled "Jockey Directory. This link opens the page that allows you to save the message to appear in the directory. You can edit this message at any time.
